The ASSITEJ Cradle of Creativity (16-27 May) comprises a Festival, a Conference and a World Congress, all dedicated to theatre for young audiences. The multi-layered event is hosted by ASSITEJ South Africa, and will take place in Cape Town at multiple venues. In partnership with the National Arts Council of South Africa, this will be the 19th ASSITEJ World Congress and International Theatre Festival in the 52 year history of ASSITEJ International and the very first on the African continent. Registrations are open and can be made through www.assitej2017.org.za.
3 Belgian shows have been selected for the official festival programme: Moi, Monsieur, Moi! by Compagnie de la la Casquette, Us/Them by BRONKS and a South-African version of Caban by Theater De Spiegel. Furthermore, a number of workshops will be given by Belgian colleagues, and Flemish minister of Culture Sven Gatz will visit the festival on 26 and 27 May.
