In September 2019 the second PUSH+ artistic research lab will take place in Hasselt.
PUSH+ is a Creative Europe-funded project led by Imaginate (Scotland) and Krokusfestival (Belgium), The Ark (Ireland), Aaben Dans (Denmark), Scenekunstbruket (Norway) and associate partner Bangkok International Children’s Theatre Festival (Thailand). It is aimed at stimulating European dialogue and initiating new artistic ideas and performances for young audiences.
The LAB in Hasselt will bring together 15 artists based in 5 European countries to explore the notion of failure in theatre and dance for young audiences. Participants will be provided with many different kinds of input: talks with parents, teachers and experts in the social field, visits to inspirational places, a workshop with children and teenagers, exchange with experienced artists with a strong connection with the theme … A panel will select 3 artists based in Belgium to take part in this lab. Candidates should have experience of or a particular interest in creating theatre or dance performances for young people.
All artists participating in the PUSH+ LAB in Hasselt will later be invited to apply for a two-week residency in Ireland (January 2020) to develop production ideas and collaborations from the lab.
