When judging quality, is there a universal notion of ‘excellence’? What determines our idea of quality? What are the parameters for judging quality in an aesthetic experience? Who defines quality? Are some notions of quality culturally dependant? And if so, can we say that the culture of childhood has its own parameters of quality? Yvette Hardie, president of Assitej International, explored these and other related questions in her keynote presentation at the international colloquium ‘Unlimited Edition’ during the Krokusfestival (Hasselt, Belgium) on Monday 3rd of March 2014.
